With several news stories indicating more Jamaicans are suffering from depression, reggae recording artiste TruVice released the single Ged Up in the hope of making a change through music. Produced by Charlton Ferguson of Celebrity Entertainment, the single aims to motivate those who listen.

The Clarendon native, who is signed to Celebrity Entertainment, said that he was inspired by the struggles of those around him.

“Ever since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, several issues surrounding mental health have been brought to the forefront. Now people are more open to sharing their issues of depression and anxiety, while some still choose to suffer in silence. This single will inspire people to get up and move,” he said.

The artiste is no stranger to positivity and positive music. In 2018 he released his first single, Soaring High, which was produced by Audiotraxx Production.

Soaring High, like many of my songs, aims to motivate people. The song was centred around youths who questioned their destiny and what the future holds for them. I wanted to help them to align with their destiny, reminding them that they can be whatever they aspire to be,” he said. “We all had our fair share of struggles in life. My struggles lead me to create music with motivational messaging that the whole family can enjoy. Imagine a world where the music created can cause great change.”
