Dancehall artiste Prohgres is banking on his latest release, Cold World, which is a blistering commentary on betrayal and heartbreak, to make an impact in the dancehall space.

“The song is inspired by fake friends, and at the same time, my own feelings over a failed relationship with my ex of eight years. I was going through depression and mi say the world cold. You have to take risks but protect yourself, is just a cold world,” Prohgres said.

He said that the feedback on the song since its release earlier this month has been so great that he has fast-tracked plans to shoot visuals for the project. The song was produced by Tawanna Jones of the US-based label, Mineral Boss Records.

Prohgres is working on the release of an EP later this year and has completed several songs for the project. Born Richard Gordon, Prohgres grew up in Discovery Bay, St Ann.

He has made a mark with singles such as Memory Lane, Break The Chains, and Blue Tick.
