Popular west coast bar closes after family member of staffer tests positive for COVID-19

A restaurant at the upscale Limegrove Lifestyle Centre in Holetown has closed its doors temporarily after a worker’s relative tested positive for the coronavirus.

Now all the workers are to be tested and the restaurant is to undergo a deep cleansing before it reopens, it said.

West Bar & Restaurant posted an Instagram message which said: “West Bar has always followed (and will continue to follow) all of the COVID protocols. We immediately closed upon learning of the family member, and all staff members are in the process of being tested for the virus. All staff will again be tested 4 – 5 days from now.”

Patrons were informed that after an all-clear is given a thorough deep clean would take place before reopening its doors.

The statement added: “We would like to thank the COVID Unit for their quick response and for facilitating the testing in a timely manner. We would also like to wish everyone a safe and healthy 2021. As we love to say at West Bar….. Cheers!”
