Canada-based reggae singer Goodnezz is determined to use his music to make the world a better place.

“I know some people might say this sounds like a cliche, but a great man once said, we can shake the world in a gentle way. Music is a very influential force, and if it is used in the right way it can make positive changes in the world. Therefore, I am fully committed to singing only positive, uplifting songs,” said the artiste.

The Jamaica-born singer is currently promoting his latest single Everyday. The song was inspired by the death of his eldest son, Donald Leroy ‘Smokey’ Marson, who was murdered in Toronto in 2021.

“I never planned to write a song about the death of my son, but my therapist encouraged me to use my music to help my family and myself to cope with this painful experience. I hope the message of this song will reach youths all over the world and influence them to turn away from violence and crime,” said Goodnezz.

The single is co-produced by Grammy Award-winning engineer Nigel Burrell and Carl Otway.

Goodnezz, given name Donald Marson, originally hails from Portland. He’s a graduate of the Toronto-based Trebas Musical Institute.
